The island of Kauai offers a wide range of snorkeling and scuba spots to explore. On the North side of Kauai, amazing snorkeling beaches include the reefs off Kee Beach and Haena Beach Park. There are also lagoons nearby that are great for beginning snorkelers, such as Anini Beach.

Makua, “tunnels,” Beach in Haena also has a wide reef area that is extremely popular among vacationers. For experienced divers, Kauai offers a variety of scuba dive sites. Boat dives, night dives and other dive tours give scuba divers a chance to see a plethora of tropical fish, dolphins, reef creatures and Hawaiian Sea Turtles. More advanced dives include cave exploration and lava tubes. For as amazing as this island is, there is even more to see under the ocean.You can rent all dive gear and equipment nearby. The concierge or Tropical Visions will have information and will guide you in the right direction to get you in the water, exploring the sea.

November through February is when big wave season hits the shores, so make sure to look for some professional surfers in the water or around the towns during that time. Kite surfing and paddle boarding are also very popular activities in the water. Water skiing, Jet skiing and all other water activities go on all over the island 365 days a year. Experienced surfers may want to see all Hanalei Bay and Kauai has to offer on their own or beginners may want to try out a lesson, available in Hanalei Bay.
