Hula Competitions
Can it be Hawaii without the hula? Come experience the myriad of hula dances through various competitions held over several nights in September. From the Kahiko Nei to the Auana Hula, the unique competition employs traditional instruments and competitive performances in the provocative and utterly unique style of dancing that has become synonymous with Hawaii itself. Kaui Mokihana Festival
The Ho'olaule'a celebrates the Hawaiian family with tributes to their music, entertainment and traditions. Crafts and food booths will open at noon on the day of the celebration and the evening will end with the finale of the Hula Solo Competition. The Annual Lights on Rice Parade
Celebrate a Hawaiian Christmas during the lighting of Christmas decorations at the Historic County Building. The family event is one Kaui Festivals you won't want to miss and will include everything from a parade of floats to local entertainment and Christmas caroling. The warmth of the islands may not feature a white Christmas, but the joy of coming together in celebration is as warm as sharing hot cocoa on a stormy night.

Hanalei Slack Key Concerts
Every Sunday, Kaui visitors may join in a celebration of local musical traditions at the Hanalei Community Center. Live concerts are played on a traditional Hawaiian slack key guitar and ukulele. Discover a different facet of island tradition at one of the many Kaui Festivals.
